OUR MISSION · OLD TIME PREACHING

Reviving Biblical Conviction.
Inspiring Christian Action.

Preaching is the foundation. Christian action is the response.

What good is hearing sound preaching if we are unwilling to put what we hear into practice?

Why We Exist

Old Time Preaching exists to call Christians beyond a faith of words alone—to lives marked by biblical conviction, sacrificial generosity, practical service, and love demonstrated through action.

We value historic preaching, sound doctrine and the great writings of the Christian faith. Yet the goal is not merely to collect sermons or admire the convictions of earlier generations. It is to take the Word of God seriously in the way we live, give, work, and care for others.

“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”James 1:22 (KJV)

What Spurgeon's Merchant Teaches Us

In his 1868 sermon A Cheerful Giver Is Beloved of God, Charles H. Spurgeon tells of a prosperous merchant who built a larger house and adopted a more expensive lifestyle. When asked to support worthwhile Christian work, he insisted that he could no longer afford to give.

Later, troubled by his decision, the merchant imagined an unexpected visitor asking for help for missionaries, children in need, and the distribution of Scripture. Each request was declined. The visitor then reminded him of the mercy he himself had received.

Finally, the man fell before his visitor and answered: “Take all!”

The story forces a serious question: have our comforts and ambitions crowded out generosity and service? It calls for honest self-examination, not condemnation of every person who possesses wealth.

From Conviction to Action

We want to encourage Christians to consider real needs, ask careful questions, and help where they are able. Faithful action may mean supporting Christian ministry, helping a struggling family, mentoring someone, giving equipment, offering practical skills, or assisting a responsible Christian-owned business.

No visitor owes financial support to a particular project, and generosity is not measured by pressure or public appearance. We believe Christian giving should be willing, thoughtful, and grounded in biblical stewardship.

What You Will Find Here

A Real Starting Point

Our first featured project is an independent automotive business seeking to become sustainable and provide for a family. Its project page explains the work, the proposed funding needs, and the ways someone might help. It is a privately owned business, not a registered charity, and support is not a charitable tax-deductible contribution.

We aim to communicate projects honestly and distinguish gifts from loans, investments, and other kinds of support.
