Preaching The Gospel

The word “gospel” literally means “good news” and appears 93 times in the Bible, exclusively in the New Testament. Derived from the Greek word euaggelion, it is the root of English terms like evangelist, evangel, and evangelical. Broadly, the gospel encompasses all of Scripture, but more specifically, it refers to the good news about Christ and the path to salvation.
